When I first went to Ecuador, I immediately fell in love with the country. Part of me felt as if I was in my parent's motherland of Mexico and that was a welcoming feeling. I noticed many similarities as both countries are part of Latin America. The first thing that shocked me was that Ecuadorians did not eat spicy food and that made me miss Mexican food, especially ones that are spicy. I learned that Mexico is pretty much the only Latin America that consumes spicy foods, eats spicy candy, has hot sauces, and peppers. Therefore, now that I am in Barcelona I brought with me two bottles of hot sauces because I do not want to go a whole semester without it. Regardless, the foods and fruits in Ecuador were fresh and delicious, I think my host mom is an amazing cook.
